Ingredients
1/4 cup diet margarine
3/4 cup imitation sour cream or sour half &, half
1 1/3 cup all purpose flour
1 non nutritive sweetener to equal 1/, 2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 dash nutmeg
1 egg beaten
Directions
Preheat oven to 450øF. Cream margarine; add sour cream; mix well. Sift
dry ingredients. Add alternately with egg to first mixture. Spoon into
greased muffin tins; bake for 15 minutes.

Weight loss dietsThe Atkins’ Diet Although it originated back in the 1960s, the atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systems over the last few years. Although highly controversial, it allows weight loss whilst still eating many foods that are not normally available to dieters, eg lamb and eggs. With this diet you eat protein and fat, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. It is often referred to as a low carbohydrate/high protein, nutrition system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. With the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a consequence, olive oil. The Glycaemic Index Diet The glycaemic index nutrition and weight loss system is linked to the gi (or glycaemic index), a chart showing foods and a score representing the rapidity with which the carbohydrates of the food type gets changed to sugar in the dieters blood stream. The believe is that slow release food types (ie those with a low Gi score), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and help to eat less food without being miserabl;e. It is also especially beneficial for sufferers from diabetes, as the low GI food types are beneficial in reducing surges in blood sugar secretion. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a diet initially suggested by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated web site. The Zone diet is not exactly a weight loss diet, but some people discover that they really manage to lose body weight by following the zone diet. The supposed science behind the Zone Diet is that if you can gain control of the amount of two key hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, in turn puts your body in a balanced state that is much, much more healthful than normal, which, not surprisingly, is known as 'the zone'. Sears states that a body that is in 'the zone' is working at its most efficient and, as a result, does not build up fat. The main procedure of the diet is to keep tight control over the exact ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to make sure your diet has plenty of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils. The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a weight loss system invented by Dr. arthur agatston which encourages that dieters should be eating "good carbs" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Dr. agatston developed this diet for people who have cardiac problems, based on his detailed analysis of scientific studies on other weight loss studies. "good" foods include, canadian bacon, turkey bacon, shellfish, mozzarella cheese, peanut butter, lowfat milk and certain vegetables, such as chickpeas, broccoli and turnips. |
