The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) diet is linked to the gi (or glycaemic index), a list showing food types and a score illustrating the rapidity that the carbs of the food gets transformed to sugar in your blood stream. The theory is that slow acting food types (ie those foods with a low Gi score), suppress your appetite for longer and mean that you can injest less food without craving snacks all the time. It is also extremely beneficial for individuals with diabetes, as the low GI foods are useful in minimizing rises in glucose amount. Foods containing allyl sulfides ( includes garlic, onions and green onion) The onion and garlic family is rich in allyl sulphides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Even though there is little scientific evidence at hand, allyl sulfides are also thought to help with antiinflammatory effect, arteriosclerosis and insomnia. Foods containing allyl sulfides also have a low calorie count, so you should add them to your weight loss program. |
